I’m Elodie, the Canadian Founder of La Marcotterie. As an engineer, I was trained to pay attention to the fine print. One day, I flipped over the label of my body soap and found a list of synthetic ingredients I could barely pronounce. Curious (and a little alarmed), I searched for better options—only to find that most natural soaps smelled the same—lavender, peppermint… nice, but predictable. I craved something different. Something truly natural, yet refined.

So I grabbed my lab notes from university and started experimenting—blending sophisticated, rarely used botanicals with timeless classics to create scent profiles that felt truly unique. What began as a passion project quickly grew into something much bigger.
Eventually, I had to make a choice. I couldn’t balance both engineering and La Marcotterie… so I took a leap of faith and left my career!
